Is parental supervision required?

Parental supervision during the session is welcomed but is not compulsory. There will be a viewing area for parents to watch from. Alternatively parents can feel free to enjoy Barangaroo Reserve, enjoy cafes in the southern dining precinct or book into an Aboriginal cultural tour with one of our guides.

Is there food and beverage available?

Coffee, cold drinks and gelato are available for purchase at the venue.

For families looking for substantial food options before or after the session, bringing your own picnic to enjoy in Barangaroo Reserve is a popular option. Alternatively, order a Pop-up Picnic or explore options in Barangaroo’s dining precinct (10-15 mins walk from the Cutaway).

How do I get to the Cutaway?

Driving & Parking

The Barangaroo Reserve car park is operated by Wilson Parking and located off Towns Place. There is a lift from the car park to the entrance of the Cutaway where the workshops will be held. Book a parking space via Wilson Parking’s online system, book-a-bay, and use the code ‘WORKSHOP’ to access a special rate of $20 for 3 hours (valid for entry & exit prior to 4:30pm).


The closest train station is Wynyard, which is connected to Barangaroo via the Wynyard Walk tunnel. After exiting the tunnel, follow signs north along Hickson Road to Barangaroo Reserve and the Cutaway. This walk takes approximately 20 minutes.


The Barangaroo Wharf is located at Barangaroo’s southern dining precinct. Barangaroo Reserve and the Cutaway are walking distance.

Are there sessions for different age groups? 

Each workshop is suitable for children aged 5 to 12 years old. On arrival to their session, children will be placed into three groups of 20 participants based on age and ability. Each group will have two facilitators.

Does my child need to have prior experience?

No experience is necessary. Beginners are welcome. Groups will be small to ensure that each child receives adequate assistance. Please let the workshop facilitators know on the day if your child has previous experience or specific physical skills.

What do participants wear?

While being undercover, the Cutaway is still open to the elements and can be cold. Wear comfortable close-fitting clothes that permit movement such as tights or tracksuit pants.  Sneakers recommended. Children may be asked to remove shoes for some activities. If you own grip socks you are welcome to bring those as well.


Can I photograph/film my child in the workshop?

Please refrain from flash photography and filming to avoid distracting the facilitators.

Is there a cloakroom?

No we do not have cloakroom facilities in the venue. Items may be left in the viewing area; however, we are not responsible for items left unattended.

Are pass outs allowed?

Accompanying adults as well as children will be issued a wristband for access into the venue. Adults are free to enter and leave the viewing area as they please. Children will be required to remain in the venue unless picked up by their guardian or parent or we are advised otherwise at the time of drop off.

My child has special needs can they attend?

Please contact us prior to booking your ticket to discuss how we can assist at It is important that our facilitators are made aware of any special needs before they commence the workshop.

Can I bring a pet?

Pets other than Assistance Dogs are not permitted in the venue

Will there be tickets available at the door?

To avoid disappointment we recommend booking in advance, as numbers for each session are strictly limited and may sell out. Tickets can be purchased from Ticketek here. If a session is not sold out, tickets can be purchased using card only from an onsite box office. The best way to find out whether a session is sold out is to check Ticketek more than 60 mins prior to the session time.

Can I change my ticket for a different session or get a refund?

Ticketek will only offer a refund or exchange of a ticket if an event is cancelled, rescheduled or significantly relocated by the Seller (and you cannot or do not wish to attend the rescheduled or relocated event), or to the extent otherwise required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law).
