Event Notification: SKATE at The Cutaway 18-20 July 2019

As previously advised, arts and social change organisation, Big hART, is now an artist in residence at the Cutaway, developing their thrilling creative project SKATE.


Key dates

  • One public event on Saturday 20 July, 6pm – 9pm (performance and Q&A 6pm – 7:15pm, open skate session 7:30pm – 9pm)
  • Two public events on Thursday 18 July and Friday 19 July, 6pm – 7:30pm (performance and Q&A)


What you can expect

  • Noise associated with set up, rehearsal and pack down activities, including the use of machinery.
  • Noise associated with the rehearsals and performance including audio testing, catering, equipment, skateboarding, low level crowd noise and recorded music. Monitoring will be in place throughout this time.
  • Estimated audience numbers between 30 and 300 people.
  • All deliveries will occur via the Town’s Place loading dock.


Work hours

  • Technical testing or promotional filming may take place between 9am and 1pm from Tuesday 16 July – Saturday 20 July
  • Rehearsals may take place between 9am and 6pm on Saturday 20 July
  • Technical rehearsals may take place between 1pm and 10pm from Tuesday 16 July – Friday 19 July
  • Pack down activities will take place between 7am and 10pm from Monday 22 July until Saturday 27 July.

About SKATE at the Cutaway

Skateboarders, musicians and digital artists will collaborate to explore the art of skateboarding and develop a new theatrical show called SKATE.
