In preparation for the upcoming traffic switch on Hickson Road, the team will be constructing a new pedestrian refuge, south of Watermans Quay. Pending final approval, site establishment will commence at 6am on Saturday 2 November and finish at 5pm. On Sunday 3 November, works will commence at 7am and be complete by 5pm. These works are required to take place at the weekend when there is limited vehicular and pedestrian activity in the area.

There will be a compound set up around the median island and two way traffic will be maintained at all times and pedestrians will continue to use the existing refuge.

It is anticipated that the new pedestrian refuge will be open on Monday 4 November (contingency Tuesday 5 November) - traffic controllers will be in place to assist pedestrians during this transition period.
